Managing internal culture is challenging and there's always some morale quotient that needs to be tended to.
There are a few keys here:
- Make sure to hire low drama people
- When you hear about this, make sure to confront it and tell people you won't let it continue. You do need to be close to employees to sense this.
- Finding a way to orient them outward is key, ie helping customers, tackling a new market, fighting against competitors etc. Without that they will look inward and get competitive with each other which causes drama.
